Arcon Walk

Peter Carey and John Boylan joined a walking party organised by Arcon Housing Association Limited on their annual July walk.

The walk, roughly 9 miles in length, began in Coniston via the Walna Scar Road passed through Boulder Valley to Levers Water and then progressed up through Gill Cove to Levers Hause and onto Brim Fell (2,611 feet) and then Coniston Old Man (2,633 feet).

From the Old Man the party dropped down to Goat's Hause before climbing to the last top of the day at Dow Crag (2,555 feet).

The party then decended over Buck Pike and Brown Pike back to Walner Scar Road and to Coniston for a few well deserved pints in the Sun Inn.

Arcon Housing Association Limited is a leading Housing Association based at Lloyd Street, Manchester with approximately 1,000 properties in Management across the North West of England providing properties that are affordable and market rents.

The party was lead by David Hallam the Association's Asset Management Consultant and until recently the Association's Surveyor and Maintenance Director.

John Boylan commented "it was an excellent day notwithstanding the very steep assent and decent and a great team building exercise with the Association and it's other professional consultants.  Even the rain held off although it was a bit misty when we reached the summit".
